All you need to know about the Computer Based Test mode in JEE Advanced 2018!
JEE, one of the most awaited exams in the country, constituting JEE Main & Advanced is a gateway for admission in the prestigious IITs, NITs and other top notch engineering institutes. Every year Lakhs of Students try their luck in JEE main, out of which the top performing Students are selected for JEE Advanced. This year around 2.24 lakh students are estimated to appear in JEE Advanced which is scheduled on May 20, 2018. One’s performance in JEE Advanced is the criterion for the selection in esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (IITs).
As you all must be aware of the phrase – ‘Change is the only constant’. Similarly JEE Advanced will go through a drastic change in 2018. Yes, you heard it right – JEE Advanced will now be conducted completely online i.e. in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode which hitherto was conducted in offline mode. - Modify Your answers – Computer Based Test mode comes with an option of re editing your answers, in case you feel that your marked option is incorrect. Remember, you couldn’t alter your answers, once encircled in the OMR sheet, earlier in the offline mode. Well that’s a gain for each of you JEE aspirant.

It is very well understood that there might be some ambiguity Students might face while giving the exam in CBT mode for the first time and to overcome this barrier, IIT Kanpur (The exam organization Body for JEE Advanced 2018) has released various help videos (available in both English and Hindi) and mock Tests, in order to help Students acclimatize this new testing pattern. Also, In case of any technical hitches, the Students will be credited with extra time. However, JEE Main - the preliminary examination conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), will have both the options, of offline as well as online.
